severe launches trainings for new students

SEVERE project mentors, supported by the SEVERE project team, ran an information session and launchpad for students who want to have a foundation in social innovation and work on a project with students from across Europe.

Over 70 students attended the workshop where they had the opportunity to hear about the projects SEVERE mentors had been working on and then share their own ideas within breakout rooms. Led by the mentors who had already undergone the trainings with SEVERE,  the areas of focus in the breakout rooms were Disability and Accessibility, Environmental Issues, Health Inequalities, Circular Economy, Social Injustice and Sustainable Finance.  Students thought about the drivers for the problem areas, discussed potential solutions and began to formulate ideas for their own social enterprise.

After the breakout rooms, all participants were able to ask any questions and advised on what next steps they could take to join the project. All interested students will take part in a workshop on the 24th January where they will get the opportunity to identify social challenges from their regions and form transnational teams. A series of online trainings will commence in 2023, leading to the final event in June, where the best teams will be able to present in Aveiro, Portugal.
